Xiaolian had kept the pressure off Catherine and Tyrus from Grigore as long as she could, but the Council was another matter altogether. No one really liked any of them, or the threat of being imprisoned in someplace like Broadmoore as a means of encouraging cooperation within the ranks of the Specialist's in Dallas.
Unfortunately though, facts were what they were. Both Catherine and Tyrus had technically broken parole and its terms as set forth by the Council. While Tyrus was a first time offender in the matter, this would be Catherine's second time, and Xiaolian doubted that there would even be a third. And now Kasimir Klein, the vampire and Councilior in charge of MCU was currently doing his best to figure out where Catherine and Tyrus had gone.
Which seemed to mean barging into what passed for an office Xiaolian shared with Molly, which currently had its walls being used as a make shift corkboard and desks scattered with a slew of takeout containers and stale coffee.
"Stand in line Kasimir, because I sure as hell don't know where they are." Xiaolian deadpanned, looking at Kasimir with combination of indignation and irritation. It was a lie, but one that she could afford given that the vampire knew next to nothing about her, and likely still considered her a null. "I would have thought your glorious Il Re or whatever the fuck you call him would have told you, they've been missing near on three months." She added leaning back into her chair and crossing her arms over her chest, a tattoo of the Ba-Shu symbol for dragon just visible on her right wrist.

"The current Ra prefers to be called King Grigore." He corrected, unimpressed. "And I seriously doubt you don't know where she is. It has been three months. She had to have told you something. Something clearly happened on the solstice, which she should have been working. But I have here that she's called out on the solstice, our busiest day, for years now. I would rather not release bounty hunters on Tyrus or Catherine. But I cannot hold the other members of the council back any longer." The bounty hunters would be set out and warned that they would be looking for two class 5 individuals. That was the long and short of it.
They'd be sent out shortly. He was trying to find something he could use before that, before the council had to take such a strong step. "It would be much better if Catherine and Tyrus both turned themselves in. I have no doubt you know where they are, Boyuan."

"Stand. In. Line. Councilor. I'm serious." Xiaolian replied. She didn't like to be pushed, much less deal with individuals like Kasimir. "I don't care what the fuck that over bearing jackass wants to call himself, he can call himself the merry Queen of England or the Duchess of Pop-Overs or even Captain Crunch for all I care." And she really didn't care. Tyrus and Catherine had been right, Grigore had to go and someone needed to be put on the throne that wouldn't risk all of the Unseen. Never mind that the fact that the court's new King had been spoiling for a war with the werewolves, something that Dallas did not need then and there.
"Even if I did know something, both you and I know the Warden is not mandated to work Solstice. You know it, I know it. If that date is so important, you work it yourself instead of whatever it is you do." She pointed out. He was really pushing his luck here, and she would prefer to not have to tip a hand to any of her cards more than she already had.
"And I am strongly going to encourage you to not send a bounty hunter after two class 5's, whom I might add to remind you barely meet that definition."

"The only reason they 'barely' meet that definition is there is no class 6." He refuted. "And I do work the solstice. Do you really think I sit on my ass all day?" He worked his ass off for MCU and put up with shit like this way too often. The Dallas office was a headache and a half and he sometimes wanted to scatter the lot of them. But that would inflict them on other people. It was better to keep them relatively contained and useful.
"We have class 4 and class 5 bounty hunters. It could be done." It just wouldn't be pretty. It would be an absolute disaster and they all knew it. As it was, once Catherine was found, agathon was pushing for her to end up right back in Broadmoore to serve out the remainder of her sentence.

"No, the reason they're categorized as a 5 is because the Council can't stand to think that there are things outside of the neat little boxes they want to put people in." Xiaolian disagreed. Were all Councilor's this stupid or had Kasimir just swallowed the koolaid once he got his appointment? Either way, she could see why Catherine hated the lot of them, despite her commitment to MCU and to some degree the Council.
"I think you've lost sight of what your position's purpose is for." She added bluntly. The man was so used to dealing with the neat and tidy day to day of the Council, he had lost sight of what an officer, never mind a Specialist went through on the daily. "And again, I will seriously recommend against setting class 4 and 5 bounty hunters against a mage like Rahal and a warden like Dumitrescu. Did becoming a Councilor make you loose all good sense, Kasimir?"

"You think I want to? I'm not the only councilor, Boyuan, despite what you may think." He pinched the bridge of his nose. "I would rather one of them pop up some time soon. Preferably with the other in tow. Rahal's assistant had no clue what was going on either. So I doubt this was planned." He did have a brain despite what Xiaolian may think. He sighed and considered his options. "Agathon has already chosen a bounty hunter. It's the sort of choice that I would never allow outside of Broadmoore. Unfortunately, he is right. We've pulled people from Broadmoore before if they could be useful." Catherine being a prime example.
"Look. Get them to me and I'll call off the search. I would rather they be apprehended safely. But it's beginning to look like that's not an option."

"I said absolutely nothing about you being the only one, sir." She replied with a smile. This man really did know how to push all the wrong buttons on anyone, never mind hers. But the assistant not knowing seemed par for the course with Tyrus, the mage had often been buried neck deep in a book or project and had forgotten that they were meeting. It was frustrating not only to her, but everyone else who happened to be in on getting the fledgling whipped into fighting shape.
"Given that Agathon has already made his choice and likely sent whatever out into the world to play, bringing them in wouldn't solve anything." It was still her problem from the standpoint of she hoped that Agathon in his desperation and anger didn't send out something that would cause problems on a larger scale. The future was hazy and uncertain for now, the two fugitives would return, but what waited for them wasn't certain.
"Needless to say, I respectfully disagree with your decision sir and find it in very poor taste." Xiaolian added resisting the urge to give Kasimir the finger right then and there. If only because technically this job allowed for her to do her other one with relative ease and not much difficulty.

"Very well." She had made her decision. "I would like to speak to Bronson as well. If she would stop avoiding me, that would be ideal. Lest she forget, she's on probation too." Good behavior got sentences reduced. Whether Molly was willing to cooperate or not was in the air. He sure as hell didn't know. He was pretty sure she knew something though, if only because she was avoiding him at this point and it was very, very obvious.
This was going to go to hell in a hand basket. Agathon was going to let a mad man out in his quest to capture Catherine and Tyrus. And he had no doubt the two of them would have some ridiculous well thought out excuse as to why it was just fine for them to skip out on their probation. They always did.
