Subject: RE: What's going on? Data correlation - anomalous readings/behavior, Mall Crater
Good morning folks of R&D! Dr. Anderson and I thought this warranted wider contact among the research group so I hope you have coffee for this one. We've been picking up recent anomalous disturbances since the Mazar ranch detonation. Later at the Grant Mall here in Dallas as well we've seen some correlated magical traces exposed over most of Dallas.
First off, is the Mazar Ranch incident. Those that have sufficient access can connect to the scene reconstruction {rid:1435376011} we're hosting for our new crime scene tech, miss Chrysanta Townsend. We're still not sure exactly what the original ritual here was doing as a whole as it does appear altered from the intended purpose in some way. It's a very large and complex applied entropy ritual. Much of what we have is from miss Townsend's reconstruction as a lot of evidence didn't survive between explosion, triage, and reclamation efforts. Along the way she's since discovered an embedded cell phone sim in the evidence log {eid:5496507098} which R&D helped remove {rid:1435376029} as it was from a phone superimposed inside a paving stone from the house.
Further topographic analysis by lidar overfly indicates there is a statistically signifigant spherical deformation by heaving {rid:1435376055} of the terrain underneath Mazar as well. This is compared to historical USGS information on file for the area but there is currently no reason to believe this poses any natural geological threats in nature and there's almost no infrastructure within the bounds that could experience damage. We've informed Dallas public works of any areas of potential concern but all reports just indicate minor structural stress.
Triage of Veil incidents in the area as aftershocks were significantly abnormal in that area and distributed in a far larger area. Within a diameter more consistent with the rate of falloff of the spherical deformation of the ranch than the falloff of the magical event, however strong it may have been. {rid:1435376096} An ongoing sampling of veil strain at the extents further suggests this link by a normal distribution within the ranch confines with a massively extended falloff distributed halfway to Waco. If the larger Gaussian distribution of veil stress is removed from points within Mazar it significantly correlates with expected values for a magical event of the given intensity. {rid:1435376067} This is further compounded by evidence of several previously unknown curses of chaotic origin as they frankly exploded under a much stronger opposing external stressor which is inconsistent with the nature of the chaos sources of the Mazar focal point.
So, this leads us to two conclusions which may be of interest to our Warden. There were two distinct events at Mazar where only one was by the intent, power, and responsibility of the caster. The second is either an unexpected but correlated event of a natural scale far beyond the scope of a human caster's power or a result of the intent of an as yet unknown party that altered the Mazar ranch ritual to this end.
Second, near the Grant Mall and a particularly weak point of local ley we found a suspicious 'utility explosion'. {eid:5496507135} Trace sampling later discovered a hyper-ordered incursion of an as yet identified spell. The manifold-fracturing of several transfigured steel parts in the utility room indicates an opposing force of like nature possibly interrupting an otherwise stable environment. Later analysis of the parts and destructive analysis of a sample {rid:1435376182} shared a harmonic resonance with impressions of magic contained within evidence from the Mazar Ranch {eid:5496507132}. Amorphous steel feathers of unidentified origin were also found at the scene {eid:5496507160} with a blood sample far too damaged to get a DNA analysis but reacted antagonistically with attempts to regenerate the biomatter for analysis indicating it possibly Vampyric in nature. {rid:1435376144} There is nothing in our database that directly correlates with something sharing both those natures let alone a feather of apparently organic origin that would take tends of thousands of dollars to manufacture with current technology.
Thirdly, in at least a few hundred years this area one of very few that localized veil stress from magical disturbances has ever recovered naturally in volume in a tightly confined zone. Two dozen locations within two months have themselves sealed up absent any of our efforts to triage the locations. No witnesses at the locations noted any abnormal individuals at these locations and many are in places where there are no cameras to start with which strongly indicates an intelligent agency evading observation. {eid:5496507143} There are new reports of necromantic exposure but nothing concrete and I'm not sure if it's related to leftovers of high-end blood magic or not as the exposure levels seem particularly degraded for it to be a cast of anything recent. {eid:5496507245}
If anyone has information that may match any of these patterns or correlate with the dates therein please let me or my team know to look at it. We're not sure what happened yet but something is moving around that's definitely within MCU jurisdiction. It is unknown if the source of the feather or the anomalous weak point sealing is related to the Mazar Ranch explosion at this time.

Oh hey! They sent Santa to the south border, eh? I heard about that affair and Dr. Morris wasn't happy with the council at all then promptly retired. Good to see she's still sending us presents!
That said, we're pretty sure there was an event southeast of us somewhere between El Paso and Big Bend starting only just slightly after the Mazar Ranch explosion {rid:1435376205} but before your mall one and is likely ongoing by all data we can gather. However, we have no idea how to track it as it appears to be ritual magic of some kind among hundreds of different casters that's frankly all over the place. There's no one trace strong enough to follow anywhere. There are bunches of diviners complaining of an 'oscillating hum' or a 'ticking' all over the area but can't point in any direction. {eid:5496507209}

I asked around the officers and apparently folks know her family around here. Welcome miss Townsend! I wondered why our security company had twice as many new faces nowadays.
We're getting reports of hum and ticking around here too other than the usual and I'll attach the data points to your research document. It's definitely south of us in Midland as well but we don't have a diviner good enough at tracking something that structurally obscure. With that much ground to cover we'll never find it without some better data. In my opinion that feels likely to be on purpose.

Under NDA(s) I asked a local ornithologist about the feather image sets and was directed to a paleontologist at the University of Texas in Austin. They're telling me that's not a modern feather but it's not Archaeopteryx either. They theorize it's something under Dromaeosauridae and possibly a Utahraptor. They really, REALLY, want to know where we got it from. So what you've got there in your hot little hands, Ivor, is a metal dinosaur feather. Do vampires come in that old? Please excuse my language but I fucking hope not.
