Catherine gave the three one last disdainful look before continuing onwards with Grigore. Tyrus, Molly, and Xiaolian had utterly failed to salvage what was left of what should have been a fact finding expedition, and instead saw Tyrus stripped of his weapons, Molly utterly embarassed, and Xiaolian's poor attempts at rescuing everyone from Molly's blunder.
"Yes. You're a bloody radio who broadcasts every thought to telepaths within 600 meters." Xiaolian stated bluntly. "I would know because I have to listen to you all day."

"I don't mean to be. And do you really think I'm too immature for the job?" She was doing her best. Tyrus groaned and headed into a heavily warded room, lowering the wards for them. It looked more like a teenage boys room, but it had been some time since he had regularly been home. At least the room was pretty clearly still his. They could have converted it to something else by now. It must not have been caught up in the changes yet.
"Yes Molly. You are way too immature for the job." He was plain on that fact. "And at least some of that is evident right now, because you're more concerned about that then that disaster of an expedition." She was talented, yes. But she was also not a good fit for any position in MCU. "I've been stripped of my jewelry and bound to the court. Xiaolian is now bound to the court. and you are an inch away from being kicked out of the court entirely." Though it may have been worth it.

Xiaolian was silent as Tyrus laid into Molly, explaining the gravity of the situation they were now in. For once she was glad of Tyrus's forethought to place them in a warded room. There was a great deal to be discussed, and none of it was going to be kind to any of the parties.
Sighing, she considered her next words carefully. "There are worse things than being bound to the court, believe me. For now we have inside access and Grigore thinks himself successful in his efforts."
However there was still the issue of Molly and her blunders. "Molly... I say this in the kindest way possible, you are extrodinarily talented, but you are ... decades against centuries.. against millenia. You still think that everything will come out roses if you wish hard enough."

"Closely monitored inside access." He said and closed his eyes. "We'll be watched every step of the way. In a way, we're lucky he dismissed you as a child Molly. It meant he didn't angle to get you under his thumb as well." Throw in a ward breaker as well, and well. There was a reason they made a good team. "So, she still reacts to her triggers. She's not completely...whatever that was." He had poked one of the triggers to find out what was going on. It was definitely still there. "And she's allowing herself to show that emotion too. More like she was among the fae than she was among MCU." More natural, in a way. He didn't know how else to put it.
Molly looked incredibly uncomfortable. "She looked different. Like...younger. More vibrant. If it wasn't for the fact that she hates the courts, I'd think she was happy here."

Xiaolian frowned and considered what she had observed. "Do we even know if she truly hates them or finds them tedious in the line of duty?" She thought aloud. They didn't even know anything about their former boss now turned royal, only what the records and internal profiles told them. "But she didn't react Tyrus, normally she would have throttled you." The woman pointed out, having many times had a front row seat to some of the arguments the pair had had over training. She couldn't help it if her workouts overlapped with theirs.
"I suspect she has a glamour similar to yours though Molly... we just don't really know enough about her to dictate if this is normal or a total break."

"Not in this setting she wouldn't." He pointed out. "In this setting breaking a wine glass is a strong reaction." He considered it one at least. "She still had the control not to destroy it, but its not going to be usable again." He had seen the state of its stem. It had looked to be held together mostly by memory of what it was. A hard wind would shatter it. Xiaolian was right though. They didn't know enough about Catherine to know her true feelings on the issue.
"So. How do we find out if she's actually happily here or not?" Molly didn't know. The other had looked happy to be there, happy to be by her Father's side. She hadn't looked like she was upset at all. But there was something underneath it all. She didn't know what. "He said I think too loud. So he definitely has telepathy too. How do we know he if he did something to her?" She didn't know how that was detectable. They had a shred of evidence at her apartment, but even that was minimal at best.

"What are you? Her therapist?" Xiaolian snorted derisively, finding Tyrus entirely too full of himself. If breaking a glass just by holding it too tight was a strong reaction, then she wasn't sure what an extreme reaction would warrant. "Thing is Molly.. we don't. Normal to us with her may not be normal." There simply wasn't enough information to make an accurate decision.
But Grigore and Catherine had been right, Molly telegraphed everything down to the last thought. "Telepathy runs in family lines, at least that's what I know. Not everyone may inherit it, and it's a ability that can predispose a individual to madness however."
Control over it was the first thing taught. Some never gained much more ability than to communicate simple ideas, impressions, or feelings. Others meanwhile went on to be able to do much more than that. Telepathy wasn't always what everyone thought, oftentimes it was a constant nagging headache from a sensory overload or a swirling jumble of thoughts; many which were never one's own.

"I spent a year one on one teaching her. I still don't know her well. A year isn't long to a fae, but I know her well enough. That was her version of a strong response when she's not with the fae." A strong response then involved a hell of a lot more violence. Or rose bushes. He still wasn't happy about that one. He ran a hand over his head and sat on his old bed, not sure how to handle this situation at all. "Xiaolian is right. We can't know if he's done something to her or not. He's...he's old. My parents were old, but he's older. There's no telling what he can do, but you don't live to be so old by being...being anything less than cunning. Subtle." He shrugged uncertain how to put it. "The best we can do is monitor the situation."
Molly wrinkled her nose. "There has to be something more than that. She just. The council won't let her leave like that. And she didn't resign so much as disappear one day. There's too many loose ends for this to be willing." Couldn't they see that? Couldn't they see that there had to be more than they could do. She hadn't come willingly, and the evidence had been clear. There was no way she was staying here when she hated vampires and hated the politics that came with the courts.
Tyrus ran a hand over his face and considered all the implications. "Molly. Go home. You've been acknowledged as a child, so no one will touch you here, and I want you out of this mess."
"I'm not a-" Tyrus cast a silencing spell on her putting an end to the argument. He met Xiaolian's gaze and shrugged, uncertain how to convey it all.
"You have a choice in staying or going. I'm apparently back to being court enforcer so I'll have to stay regardless." At least he still had the hair beads. He could channel through them, though they weren't as easy to control. He could handle without anything to channel through of course, but it left him without a way to master fine control. Fine control was incredibly difficult after all. No matter what he had been teaching Catherine, he knew he wasn't the bastion on control he should be. "You have a choice. How deeply do you want to go down this rabbit hole? If you stay, you'll only end up further in his grasp."

"Thank you..." Xiaolian said as Molly was silenced. The whole entire situation was less than ideal. The two of them were stuck, but Molly by some strange twist of fate was not.
"I'm staying, he has nothing to offer me that hasn't already been offered to me in the last few decades. Besides which, being a null should frustrate them to no end." She added with a mischievous grin. Xiaolian had said nothing but pretty words and made empty promises to the court.
She just hoped that this wasn't going to be yet another mistake, and one that would potentially cost her even more dearly than others.

"I'll escort Molly out." He said. "And instruct the guard to not let her back in. You need to write up your report Molly, while its still fresh. Right now, we need you topside and safe. Boyuan and I have this, and your mentor will kill me if you end up bound to the court too." Everyone would kill him, but especially Zander. It had been made very clear to him that he was in charge of keeping Molly out of this shit.
Molly crossed her arms and glared, but didn't try to fight back against the order. She was not pleased with what was going on, but mention of her mentor had made he subside for now.
