Xiaolian cheerfully dodged the other's attempted blows, the other had never been able to catch her long enough in their practice spars to land one. Part of that wasn't Xiaolian's speed, but instead her ability to teleport short distances
"Who said anything about me 'flashing' about the precinct? Besides which, I'm not the one who violated the wards on Dumitrescu's door last month." The small woman goaded in reply. That one had been the discussion of week when Molly had done it, and the rest of the crew was taking bets on how long before she tried it again.
"But that's beside the point, next time you create a glamour for someone.. maybe you shouldn't choose yourself as the model. Hm?" Xiaolian suggested as she turned her attention to the two children. "And cute kids, they yours?" She asked

"Not much of a choice." Molly said simply. "Some kind of blood magic? Anyway, I'm keeping an eye on her." She rolled her eyes at Xiaolian. "You know, one of these days, I am going to get you, right? Just, bam! Knock you out." The other was damned hard to hit, and seriously pushed Molly's speed. There was a reason she enjoyed sparring with Xiaolian, even if she did end up losing. It was hard to win a fight when you couldn't hit the other, after all. "And teleporting. You know what I meant. And if the warden didn't have such interesting wards, I'd stop. But they're incredibly complex, it's practically a dare."
Okay so she wasn't likely to stop even then. She grinned at Xiaolian's question. "I did do the glamour on the kids. They're adorable in either form, but no way could pass without it." The tiny anklet on both was a sure sign of where the glamour was, given it was the only thing visible that showed magic.

Flynn nodded raising one of Molly's eyebrows then jiggling her eyes in momentary curiosity, "Her eyeballs squirm in my head. Mine do not... rotate. I'm a blood writ, yes. I needed a husk to survive a living voidbrood like you where a figment might fail. You don't have Children of Teeth here that I can see but it's what these were writ to hide from."
That the husk was purposefully inert one of the reasons Flynn couldn't cast with it on even if her mundane senses still worked. A human-camouflaged space suit against greater dreaming threats if indeed made out of meat. Gentle caresses stroke a warbling Thebus then Quinn each clung tightly to her
A hollow clinking from the moving shadow bauble on one wrist as she smiled at them, "The whelps are mine, yes. I still need to get home through the Grandfather Teeth's Children and a husk will let me walk right past them. Thebus and Quinn are half-human."
She looked at Molly and coughed, "Do you have wards at your home or did you break those too? I have to take this off at some point or I'll get sick."

"Not everything the warden does is a dare directed at you Bronson, and you'll catch me when you start actually paying attention instead of just blindly swinging your arms like a monkey." Xiaolian said making a face at Molly. "But seriously, have whatever they are ditch the Karato suit, it's damn creepy." She added turning her attention from the welps to Flynn.
"I'm going to assume and correct me if I'm wrong... that sounds like a bigger problem than we're equipped to handle here. Dimensional rips, holes, and such aren't really our thing." The small woman added with a frown. Molly's other side job concerned her, it seemed to be increasingly borrowing trouble for her partner if Flynn was any indication.
"Also yes, most of us have wards on our places. Our jobs tend to not make many friends, especially given the current volatile nature of things right now."

"Karato had different colored eyes." Molly protested. "It's a Molly suit. And I am equipped to deal with that kind of trouble, when I'm not, you know, bound by the council for just a little bit of mischief. I was dealing with the case before I was bound. For now, they're hiding out here and needed to blend." Though a different appearance would be a good thing. "We do need a different form for her though. Her glamours...it's not really a glamour. That's just the closest concept that translates."
It didn't seem to be an exact one. Molly twitched her fingers and a thick book appeared in front of her, chained to her wrist. She flipped through it and settled down on a marked page, then showed Xiaolian. The writing was complete gibberish, not exactly being a human writing system at all. But there were pictures. "Here. She's from this place. Just...don't touch the book." She left it to float in front of Xiaolian and turned to Flynn. The images were of beings much like Flynn on a water planet, almost water colors. There were statues fo obviously fae people and Molly ignored that.
"As for the wards, mine are some of the best in Dallas. You'll be able to remove the husk there. And we can take the mirror system to the reserve, so you can leave from there, when you choose to. Are you sure you'd be able to make it through Grandfather Teeth's children in a husk? I can try and contact a colleague. My fruit delivery it in about two weeks, if you can wait that long." She had a whole host of fruit from another plane that she adored and got delivered.

She smiled to Xiaolian and Molly then answered, "I need to stay until the whelps learn to talk, [Boing]. I cannot travel home with them the same way back through the dreaming when they are this impulsive. I still offer the hand of one's hand to pay for the time of a husk's volunteer. Blood memory will rectify their interior flesh and I will survive the damaged husk."
"You had a twin? The wards keep out any roving voidbrood I hope," Flynn said with wide eyes to Molly, "The husk is vulnerable to possession while I have it removed."
Flynn looked up at the notion of going back to the wild, "Mirror travel from the the wilds will do. That sounds good enough and I can still find work in the city. Perhaps I will talk with your colleague I found twelve bullets and three canine teeth on the bed last night. My gazer could not find our dreaming while asleep perhaps your friend can help."

Xiaolian scowled at Molly as she squinted and took a look at the book. "My name isn't Molly, now is it?" She asked referring to the issue of the Molly being the one to touch things she shouldn't. Xiaolian had no real magic of her own to speak of, outside of teleportation and limited psionic skills. She got by on knowledge, experience, and other skills. Out of the specialists, she was perhaps the most human in her mannerisms and thought processes. "That would make things difficult... have you thought of how exactly to return your Molly clone? We don't need two of you running around causing chaos. Besides which, the binding is your own damn fault. You knew better than to do what you did to the Council, and yet you did it anyway. Don't expect any sympathy from me Bronson." Xiaolian remarked looking over at Flynn as she mentioned Molly's twin.
"Yes, Bronson had for lack of better words had a twin. They caused a great many problems that still leave many of us wary of Bronson." She explained to Flynn. "Depending on the wards... and who wrote them... possession shouldn't be a cause for concern. However, I'm sure Rahal would enjoy a good challenge." The lieutenant added. But that would likely require involving the Warden, and that alone caused Xiaolian to cringe mentally. The Warden and Molly tended to get along like oil and water, with the former having a very low tolerance for the juvenile tactics and preferences that the latter possessed.
"And I thought we had this discussion after that case Bronson... no side jobs, and no wandering. You're going to draw attention that isn't welcome."

"Her name was Karato. She wasn't quite a twin, but it's hard to explain and we were identical. She's dead now and died in custody for a pretty serious crime." And it made people look sideways at her and she knew it. Molly was not blind to the consequences of her past. "She's been dead now for a long time. As for my wards they're top notch. No void brood are going to get through them. I can't get through them." She had been very careful on that too.
"And of course I have. I get a fruit delivery once a month for fruits not of this world." Literally. They were so delicious though and definitely worth every scrap she paid for them. "They'll be able to take her with them to her home. They already know about my binding and I'm on leave from there. Minus some paperwork. But it's not a.job you get to quit, Xiaolian." She was serious.when she used the others first name. It was a rare occasion. "I'll be working it until I die. And if I try to leave, I will die."
There were rules and regulations and she knew it. Space time magic was tightly regulated by the people who could do it. There were times it felt like a secret society. She could discuss having space time magic but admitting what it was capable of was beyond her abilities. Her team had some idea but for the most part she kept all knowledge of her magical affinity close to her chest.

A chuff at Xiaolian Flynn made Molly's face give a odd-looking flap, "*Hrfff* I just need another volunteer to make a new husk. Either of us can destroy the old one and I can eat it after. It makes do until I can get a bleeder shrine built and fed somewhere."
She replied to Molly, "Yes, I can make my own place in the forest if I have easy transport here to get work. Less risk of the husk being seen in the presence of the traveler it came from."
The molly-suit's eyebrow rose, "Actually, do you have bleeders here somewhere? Maw with a row of hollow fangs? Paralyzed by the light and barred by rust or salt? Ours at least. The cute male Rahal sounds capable but not quite the kind I need at first."
Making her point Flynn thumbed at Molly, "A willed-focused reacher. I'm a bloodwrit reacher. I recover things and people from places. This is farther than I've ever been though."

Xiaolian rolled her eyes at Molly's brief dramatics. "Oh I have an idea, Molly." The petite woman countered bluntly, in no mood to deal with whatever problems Molly had brought on herself. For now she was just grateful it wasn't one the partners she'd had in the past, or one of those assignments. That team in her opinion had not only been strong willed, but stupid. They always mucked it up and caused her more paperwork than she wanted. "And that's an IF you die Bronson." Xiaolian added cryptically.
Turning to Flynn Xiaolian sighed, "That sounds like a vampire... they aren't barred by salt here, but are paralyzed by the light. The reason you think Rahal capable is his ties to one of the courts."
Vampires were individuals that she really didn't care to deal with, they were difficult and unpredictable. More often than not, they considered most humans as their dinner instead of allies.

"If? Xiaolian, I am certain I can die." She didn't really want to, but she was pretty damned certain she could die. "I've come pretty close more than once. I may be long lived, but I'm not...I'm not immortal." And she had died the one time, but she didn't discuss that. Besides, it didn't stick, she had...well, she had been healed. The fae was still shaky on all the details. Still she considered what Flynn would need and ruffled one of the boy's hair in the meantime. "Could be demons? But try vampires first, I think."
She shrugged it off. "And yeah. It's will-focused for me. But I also have to know where I'm going, if I don't want to get super lost. And no one wants to get lost in those circumstances." Getting lost in the planes was the stuff of nightmares as far as she was concerned. Not all of them were fae friendly after all. Some were distinctly not fae friendly at all. As it was, Molly, sans her glamour which had protected her from the worst of it, knew she was weaker in the city, surrounded by all the iron. She just didn't say a damn thing about it.
She could still do her work, even weaker than usual. After all, a lot of her work was based on skill.

"Not while I'm connected to your tower you're not!", Flynn snorted, "It's bad enough I'll get shifted wherever you do. I don't know what would happen if you die while I am with an egg host." Flynn held up one arm of the molly suit with binding shadows upon them, "Though I think your binding keeps you from casting my writs. You have not tried but don't without telling me first. I have to pay the blood price."
Word of demons recognized from their mindless rambling she nods at Xiaolian and Molly, "Rahal is a male with station? Even more expensive than I thought! RrRrRr. Well We have heard of demons but Grandfather Teeth ate their free will long ago along with the celestials. Nothing like the lore. Children of Teeth crushed them into dangerous beasts. Like things in the dark of the dreaming I think."
Flynn looked at the other two who she realized to high bleeders counted as food, "We do not worry too much about being eaten by the bleeders so we work with them. Veteran reachers are toxic; far too much dreaming plasm in the blood. Yours are [pramp, ph, v-ump, vampir] Ah, vampirs? Still as dangerous?"

Xiaolian ignored Molly's initial comments and turned her attention to Flynn, now was not the time to excessive questions from the other. She would prefer to keep her cards played very close to her own chest, and have it stay that way.
"Yes, vampires. Still quite dangerous.. and the ones here seem to come up with new, twisted, and innovative ways to get what they want out of the population." She said thoughtfully. Most of them tried to avoid any dealings with the vampire courts, they tended to have the habit of being two-faced. Saying one thing to get MCU and Council off their back, while doing just the thing they were asked to quit. "Basically, don't believe jack they say. Rahal however, if you can get him to agree to things, is quite trust worthy." Xiaolian explained.
From what she'd seen of the Warden's expression and mannerisms when it came to dealing with the vampires, they really were as bad as she thought. It was rare that one met one that was as good as their word, most seemed more interested in where their next meal was coming from.

"Rahal is a male with a ton of station." Molly grinned at that. "And expensive just about hits the nail on the head with him. I think our demons are different than yours then. Our certainly have free will after all." As Molly knew all too well. "Terrible all the same, but definitely have free will."
She resolved to ignore Xiaolian's weirdness. It was how their partnership worked really. Neither paid too much attention to the weird things the other was involved in. It worked out well, except when they ended up blindsided by the others business. Well, more like Xiaolian ended up blindsided by Molly's business, which was ridiculous. She basically worked until she slept. If it wasn't MCU, it was her other job. And even now they had her filling out paperwork and working on special research projects.
Apparently being plane bound did not mean you got out of work. "I don't think anybody would miss a few vampires. What do you need one for?"

Backpack only on by one strap the green bag was too small for the Molly husk's frame. Journal removed from its side pocket Flynn flipped through for a dense network of overwritten text. A ritual design clear enough if one bonded in blood and transfiguration magic.
Flynn tapped the symbol answering Both, "Still big biters and personality like the other end. Bah! Ours are more civic minded than yours. Well I need work and the manual for my tools. The handbook is built for summoning by blood writ. Where would I get a skilled practitioner but vampirs? I can't remember everything perfectly. My temporary husk anchor I remember by rote will not hold safely long. My writ circles are empty."
One hand rubbed at the Molly suit's temples, "I'm already starting to get bloodsick. I need to get out of the husk. No time to wait for some dry willed to learn to scribe blood writ."
Flynn's nose started to run a thin blue drop. When she wiped it from her face Flynn huffed at it then shook the drop off. On impact a small shrub sprang from earth within a planter nearby. The hawthorn blooming telltale white flowers. Petals soon falling off one by one to evaporate in mid-air.
