Molly groaned and let her head drop in her hands. "You didn't have to be. You could have thrown me under the bus." Molly pointed out. Why would Catherine risk anything for- Oh. Oh of course. Molly's lips twitched and she controlled her mirth. "I won't break them unless it's an emergency. But I do need to know how to break them because that's a glaring weakness for me to have left." There, a compromise.
Molly's lips twitched again and she snickered, unable to help herself. "I'm glad you didn't, even if I don't understand it. Though I refuse to tell anyone I'm now a Dumitrescu foundling, apparently." That was hilarious in ways she couldn't even begin to figure out. Still, Molly would be better than Scottlynn, never mind one fo them had finished puberty and the other definitely was only was it's lower edges. "What's the price for my remaining? I may be mostly human, but I know enough to know there's a price."

"I don't think you understand this Molly.. you are not a foundling and you are not part of my family. You are... an acquaintance whose affairs unfortunately coincide with mine. My responsibility to you ends with MCU and informing Tatianna of you, and assuring her that you are on the Seelie side." Catherine replied while glaring at Molly. "This isn't a laughing matter, Sergeant." She ground out, finding herself tempted to shut Molly up long enough to be heard.
The cultural mechanics of the fae only seemed to make sense to Catherine, as she had been raised there from the time she was a child. If anything, cultural human mechanics made little sense to her. Catherine wasn't claiming the other as a foundling, she was only fulfilling responsibilities that were dictated by her role. "The price of you staying? You will spend any free time under the guardianship and supervision of a Captain of her majesty's household guard."

Oh fine, Molly stopped laughing at the idea and then forced herself to be sterner. "Apologies Warden. Stress. I am of course on the Seelie side of things. Her majesty doesn't have to worry about that at all." If she had to pick a side, which she still didn't like having no choice in the matter. The seelie at least had their own strange honor. Still, the price was enough to give her pause. "I must have heard you wrong however. I am 67 and a widow." she thought. Around that at least. Her parents had said she was newborn, so it was probably about that.
"I don't quite understand why I need supervision or guardianship of any sort?" She made it into a question. This was insane. Some strange Fae she didn't even know was supposed to what, supervise her like a child? Okay, yes, she was mostly child shaped under the glamour, but she hadn't been a child in mind in decades.

Catherine raised an eyebrow at Molly as the other tried to manage to be more serious about this. "Of course you are.." She said dryly, far from amused with the other woman currently. "You will be assigned a guardian due to your unknown status. The queen does understand that you do not think or see yourself as a child, despite what outward physical biology suggests." Catherine stated, wishing the other would actually pay attention.
"This is more for your protection than anyone else."

Her own protection. Molly had heard that before. this was not going to be fun at all and the Fae child was not looking forward to meeting her new guardian. Well whoever they were, they were hopefully temporary. For now though, she needed more information on what was going to happen next.
"When will I meet this new guardian?" She liked her job. She liked her life. She wasn't going to run away from this situation no matter how tempting it currently was to do just that. Besides, she had responsibilities here that she couldn't just leave behind.
Right now though, she wasn't too enthusiastic about the direction her life was going.

"After the current investigation is over." Catherine answered, knowing that her team could more than likely spare Molly for a few days. It also meant that Griogre couldn't reach her in the fae realm, or so Catherine hoped. The Dragon Court, with it's pet mage, could only do so much. She feared that this situation would grow worse, and she knew that the responsibility she held to her team meant placing important personnel and resources out of risk.
Catherine could sense Molly's anger, and frustration with her, but at the same time found herself not caring. At least she had gone directly to the other before suddenly announcing things. "I understand your concern Bronson, but I assure you that this is for everyone's benefit."
