Mossbriar felt better now that she wasn't outside. Even with her fur, the fur and skin under her finger pads felt something less than warm but neither cold when outside. That stiff-skin like she was close to frostbite but before there was nothing getting through the numb. At least now her hair wasn't all fluffed from the cold that wasn't. The nausea was still there but the scent of cheese in front of her raised her flatter nose above it to hunger. Mossbriar took the cheese with both hands and put her mouth around half of it with a strained jaw too weak but to squeeze a dent. Starving appetite finally acquiesced that she had to take smaller bites to get the food on the inside.
Ravenous chewing barely waited for words to come out as isolation boils away in a faun with someone to talk at, "I can make a compass! Matron said we were very deep to find the sky-quilted hawthorn. It's a really big tree. I remember thinking it was a cloud."
Lip out she thought back to the clan matron and worried if she was okay, "Matron had people with her sometimes to pick up medicine from the tree but nobody ever left through the forest."
While an eye between cheese and cup belied some indecision her off-hand clutched the cheese as she drank a little from the cup. Gurgles shortly came from greed failing to keep water, air, and food going into their appropriate plumbing coughed with her mouth closed then swallowed as her throat refused to eject food. A loud hiccup just afterward erupted a mouth-sized gear from her mouth to ricochet from table to wall then lodge between some bits of joinery.
Avoiding eying the object she shrank into her chair with no small embarrassment, "They are all black and have boring manling shaped things for boots and gloves. One turned into a big worm once to get to the metal forest on the other side of the sky above the white forever-sun."
She put her hand in front of her face, "No faces! There's a square of four stars. Sometimes big troll ones with four fours! When I was in the stone bog if they saw me they started hunting I didn't look close. Once I got out to the hollow place when they saw me sneaking they turned away so they didn't see me."
"I thought I was just good and hidey!", She huffed at remembering the moment of realizing the small squad of them studiously pointed exactly away as she snuck through the platform they were on.
