'I'll certainly consider it.' Catherine answered. What they were doing was of little help to them or Scotty, who was incredibly recalictrant about the entire thing. Catherine would have to return to work as a warden in the coming days, and while she could leave Tyrus to some amount of self study, Scotty she couldn't. There was absolutely no way that the girl was going to want to ever have a thing to do with the unseen at this rate. There had to be a solution to this madness, because if there wasn't someone was going to land the entire family in trouble.
Some people thrived in isolation, but others like Scotty were not made out for the life of a prisoner or monastic. Either way you looked at it was only reintensifying the damage that had been done at Broadmoore. They would have to let Scotty have more freedom than they had currently allowed her, and stop treating her like such a child. Sooner or later she would have become responsible for her own actions, and even then the court was likely to call for a price on her head. Catherine would have preferred not to subject her younger sister to the same treatment the previous court had given her and Brandon; it wasn't right.
'Two more times and then we'll discuss it.'

Both managed it twice more, one with confidence and the other haltingly and unsure. Tyrus was feeling much better about his skills now, and thought he'd be ready for court soon, though an exact date he wasn't sure of yet. Scotty though. Scotty was jsut so done with everything. She just wanted this to be done with so she could go back to her room and sleep until her next meal, whenever that was. She didn't know anymore. Time was doing weird things in her captivity.
Hesitately, Tyrus reach out to Catherine one last time. 'We've got to think of something else for Scotty. The isolation...it may break her one day, but I don't think we want her as broken as it would leave her.' The question was what would be a good choice, a good option. What made sense for them to have her do. He didn't know, not really. She was so much younger and so different than any one he had dealt with before. The time out wasn't working. But what would?

'She's miserable and making us miserable as well; she still thinks like a mundane human, not that there's anything inherently wrong there... just it's not helping her right now.' Catherine agreed. Isolating the other hadn't done much other than make their lives more complicated and miserable, but it was difficult to see the other as anything other than a child. She acted, spoke, and thought like a child, which in turn greatly frustrated Catherine and Tyrus. 'I could send her to stay with Laura? I think she mentioned something about needing a roommate awhile back.' She hesitated to even offer the suggestion to Scotty, as Laura was soft and kindhearted to almost everyone she met. It went well with the other's choice of career as an herbalist and apothecary to most of the unseen in the Dallas area. She had a few human clients as well, but most of what she sold to them smelled nice and looked pretty; it had very little power if any at all.
"Good job Scotty. You've worked really hard lately," Catherine said, knowing that was a lie and a half. The other had either avoided or dragged her feet the entire time, making everything difficult. "I know you're miserable here and you mentioned getting Brandon to bring you something... what would you think about rooming with a friend of his?" It would at least let them keep an eye on Scotty, given that she prefered to spend her days sleeping and nights clubbing or drinking.

Tyrus considered it. 'If Laura would be up for it. Scotty will need guards for awhile yet though.' Especially with the werewolves so on edge. But the kid wasn't learning this way and she desperately needed to learn and quickly, or there would be serious trouble. He wasn't sure they could get through to her. 'And she'd need to continue lessons. Maybe switch to the three days a week schedule.' That would get stress off all three of them.
Scotty's eyes narrowed as she considered if this was a trick, before she decided they were honest about it. "I'd like that. It's be better than having to stay at the court. What would I have to do?" She had learned that nothing would be done without a price. And she had learned that well. That much she could take from the court at least. She had a feeling there would be some kind of catch to this though.

'She would probably appreciate the company, but she'll have final say. I'm not just dumping the little shit on her.' Catherine replied to Tyrus. 'No guard, no lessons, as bad of an idea as that is. Besides Laura's place is warded like nobody's business after the incident with that coven. She's got to learn that people will not make a choice for her.' It was a cruel and tough love approach, but one that Grigoire would likely approve of given the difficulties surrounding his youngest daughter. If she wanted nothing to do with the family, then they wanted nothing to do with her, it was that simple.
"Okay, we'll go see her tomorrow and there's no catch. You don't seem to be enjoying learning anything or want anything to do with Tyrus or myself... so we're done here." She shrugged. Convincing the other wasn't something she was willing to do, and she technically had bigger fish to fry with seeing that the Council met her demands. If they didn't she'd be gone quicker than they knew how to react.

'Someone will try and use her against us at some point. But you're the boss.' This was a terrible idea. If they were lucky, they wouldn't have to deal with Scotty going mad at some point. She already had once and he had no doubt she could go there again. She wasn't interested in actually learning control and didn't seem to see the purpose of it or any other exercise. He was staunchly against this approach. But he honestly didn't see another way out of this.
"We're done? Like, done done? Great!" Scotty hopped up and grinned. "I'm going to get changed. Can we head straight back to the court so I can get my things and leave?" She paused a moment. "But I'll still meet with the possible roommate. I just need to pack up." She was assuming she'd need to find a new job, under the circumstances, and was already thinking of where she might go. She'd probably stay in the Dallas area if only because all her friends were here. She wasn't sticking to one connected to the court though. She was through with that.

Catherine shrugged both in response to Tyrus and Scotty. 'Maybe so, but it's pushing rope. Laura will keep an eye on her and report back to one of us. Scotty will be none the wiser.' She told Tyrus. This was a compromise that hopefully Laura would agree to help with. It could also potentially ease the other into the unseen with as much care and gentle handling as possible.
"We're done. We'll head back when I'm finished with Tyrus." Catherine confirmed. She just hoped that allowing the other to have her freedom wasn't a mistake. "You'll like Laura, she's a bit of a hm... hippie, but she's nice."

Scotty left to get changed, brimming with energy and ready to go now that she knew she didn't have to attend these stupid lessons any more. She could have her life back, her phone back, and everything back. And best of all, the only compromise on any of it was that she take some hippie as a roommate. That wasn't bad at all.
Tyrus watched her go and frowned. "I hope this works out." He could see it going terribly. He could see it ending in Scotty's death. Hopefully Laura wouldn't pay the price also. They'd have to figure out some way of preventing that from happening. "Next task, I suppose." He was here to learn after all. At least he'd have his evenings mostly free again, though they'd have to figure out how to schedule lessons around Catherine being a warden once more. Luckily, he could mostly be trusted to practice on his own.
