"Removal is not something that they will consider. Ask them why if you are so concerned." Catherine knew that this was punishment for crimes she had committed and that this was in theory the only way back to a normal life. At least that's what the Council had made her to believe. But like many things it was possible that it was all just an elaborate scheme to keep her bound to them and their agenda. "But honestly, this is more than likely a simple flu. It will pass with time." And if it didn't, then the Council got what they wanted.

Tyrus sighed. "I don't think it is the flu. But I will speak to them about it. Surely being stuck as a warden is punishment enough, especially after going through the hell that was Broadmoore." It ought to be. He had seen the workload. It wasn't a job, it was a death sentence as far as he was concerned. He planned on fighting hard with the council though and was already considering his options. There would be one easy sell. Lex would gladly help Catherine out. Kasimir could be convinced, though Tyrus may have to use a bit of force on the convincing. He could formulate a strategy from there.
At least he had some clout. Not a lot, but he did run the primary prison/asylum of the unseen. It had been half-punishment himself given he had terrified the council into changing conditions, but he could work within the system as well.

"I appreciate your concern Tyrus, but I will survive." Catherine said pointedly, making the hint that now was as good as ever for him to end his visit. This was something that she felt like she had no room to complain about, as it was better than being in Broadmoore, drugged out of her mind for 12+ hours a day. She did what she needed to do to get by, and rarely asked for anything else. Kasimir had been abundantly clear that this was instead of her serving out the remainder of a sentence in drugged isolation.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A week later, and she was still suffering through what she considered a common flu. Not getting any better or really any worse, Catherine had little choice but to obey the Council's own summons. It was either that or be brought into their chambers by methods that were not nearly as kind as the mirror system.

Tyrus had been waiting and he looked Catherine over before stepping to her side. "You'll either thank me or hate me for this." He admitted. "But you'll survive." And that was the important part. He was just hoping it would be a thank you and a not hate him for it. It was a big difference after all.
Kasimir cleared his throat and looked the two over. "I'm still not certain this is wise. But I see what you mean about her state." And he wasn't really being given an option. They had the concurrence fo just over half the council. It was enough to have the binding removed. That Tyrus was here as well was, as far as he was concerned, a necessity in case Catherine's magic got out of hand on being released.

"What the ever goat fuck loving hell did you do mage?!" Catherine hissed, clearly very unhappy with Tyrus by her choice of words. Normally she was one to keep somethings to herself, but she'd about had it with Tyrus's poking and prodding that week. All she had wanted to do was recuperate, take it easy and be back by the end of the week. "I swear to the gods above and below if you did something stupid again..." She started to threaten, but was cut short by Kasimir's words. Just what was Kasimir mentioning was unwise? Rarely did that phrase come out of the vampire's mouth, as often he was quite certain about rulings and judgements when it came to the unseen.

"I told you I was going to do something about that stupid binding." He pointed out, under his breath. Oh yeah, she was angry. He had expected that though. She was going to kill him for this. Or at least come damned close to it, but he had a feeling he had one edge here: He was prepared for the inevitable backlash. And he was expecting there to be serious backlash, given the council chamber had stones strategically spread out, ready to help him absorb what he was thinking would happen. Kasimir had been a little bitch about it, but the man often was and knew when to shut up at least.
"If you two are finished? Catherine, you have a rather intense defender in the form of your friend. In light of your health, we are taking certain steps to ensure your continued survival." She was a tool in their toolbox and a valuable one. This, he reminded himself, would allow them to keep the tool.

Catherine shot Tyrus a glare and turned her attention to Kasimir. "My apologies Councilor Klein." She said, still slightly confused about this meeting was about. However, she was still going to look for ways to make him miserable for this. "My friend here has yet to tell me what this is about. Might I ask what about my health has you concerned?" Catherine ventured. As of a week ago everything was fine, she was tired, but things had been fine.
She had shown up, when requested to, and had dressed appropriately. Opting for one of her nicer suits, the black one with the sapphire blue blouse, knowing that the Council wouldn't look kindly on pajamas.

"You are ill, Catherine." Tyrus said. "Kill me for this later." He was going to pay for this in a myriad of little ways. Catherine could be vicious when she wanted to.
Kasimir smiled. "You are here today to have your binding removed. You will remain a warden for the entirety of your probation and you will spend the next twelve weeks in seclusion to ensure you have a modicum of control. this will not count to your 272 years." He wasn't going to be that kind to her. He was against removing it to begin with, but he had been talked around. By force. By Ra, someone was needed to get that stupid mage under control. Surely Agathon could do something about him.

Catherine shot Tyrus another cutting glare, he of all people shouldn't have been the one to petition the Council to remove it. It had been placed for a reason, and even she understood that as lacking as her education in magic could be at times. What she had done during that assignment so many years ago was unforgivable; she had caused so much harm, death, and destruction that the Council would have been within rights to keep her under the jail.
"Forgive my saying so Councilor... as much as I would like that done.. I cannot leave Dallas now. We're in the middle of an arson investigation and I do not think that leaving one like Bronson in charge is wise."

Kasimir flinched, full body at the very idea of Bronson left in charge of anything more than a goldfish. That would be the opposite of wise. The woman was correct in that. Bronson was far too immature to leave in charge. "Given her own binding, at least she couldn't get into too much mischief. Besides, she has a partner, does she not? A Lieutenant Boyuan? That is who would be in charge." Not Molly Bronson. There would be no precinct remaining with Bronson in charge.
"You have been having lessons on control. If you feel you will not need further lessons on control once it is removed, then so be it. But I would prefer it if you would accept the offer." Even if it meant leaving Bronson relatively unsupervised.

Seeing Kasimir flinch like he had was worth getting dragged across the world to this meeting alone. "Boyuan would be better.. I agree." She said. At least someone could keep Molly in line while they finished out the investigation on the Mezar arson attack. That case alone had been big enough that she had been working on it from home during her sick leave. It still meant that in some ways she punched in for a shift, just wasn't present physically to do much of anything.
Sighing, she saw that Kasimir had something he knew she wanted and was using a form of leverage she was familiar with. "I have... but I cannot say I trust myself with this.... this removal. However, I will agree." Catherine said slowly. In the back of her mind she was still considering just how exactly to make Tyrus miserable.

"Boyuan is a competent investigator." He couldn't help but add under his breathe "And not a menace to my sanity." He offered Catherine a wan smile. "If you will stand in the center of the circle? It should only take one person to remove your binding. Tyrus, are you ready in case?" Kasimir was prepared to remove the binding, but very nearly expected her to go mad during the removal.
Tyrus nodded, shedding his suit jacket and letting it drop to the floor. As fashionable as it was, he needed to be ready to move, just in case something did happen. He settled himself into a lower stance, ready to move as needed.

"I will tell her you said that." Catherine remarked as she moved into the center of the circle. Kasimir often forgot how good her hearing really was, and that this Warden wasn't entirely human to begin with. Appearances could be deceiving and this was almost always the case with Catherine. The circle this time seemed different from the one that they'd sat her in initially, when they had chained her to a chair and hoped that she didn't have to where with all to break loose. She hadn't had all of her mental faculties at the time, and much of what had happened was a wash of pain and emotions that her mind did it's best to block out.
Catherine didn't expect much different this time.

"I'm sure it will give her joy." The child. Still Catherine seemed ready enough. Kasimir readied himself and began chanting the spell. "What has been done let be undone, That which has been bound let it be unbound, Sentence served and all forgiven unbind, Unbind within, so let the magic spin." It echoed the initial binding if only weakly. The binding hadn't been meant to be removed after all. The echo would, he hoped, help. Hand raised up he brought it down sharply and magic streamed from it and to the symbols of her binding. Slowly, reluctantly, the rings began to break and the tattoo behind her ear began to split, dissolving from the middle. It would be painful. It would not be gentle at all on her body or on her magic.
Frankly, she could survive it. That was the important part. That it would hurt hardly mattered to him. She had been lucky they had found a way to remove the binding at all.

Catherine wasn't ready, despite Kasimir telling himself she was. First there was the initial pain of the binding starting to tear away, it wasn't at all like removing a band aid though. Instead, it was as painful if not more so that the initial binding. This was likely due to the fact that she had still had a significant amount of Broadmoore's compliance cocktail in her system, that alone had likely dulled the pain.
As the binding fell away, the room began to spin and it felt like her mind was everywhere and anywhere at once. She couldn't help but scream as the searing pain tore through her skull and her skin felt as if she were being burned alive. There was no relief, and her magic largely once dormant began to wake up.
First there were the initial sleepy tendrils that reached out, testing, and signaling back to the whole. Then came the larger more destructive psionic paired waves that broke glass, and threatened to tear apart the chamber. There was little she could do to control it, as her thoughts were already subsumed by the pain of the release.
Catherine continued to scream, unintelligible words as the pain and magic washed over her wave after crashing wave, threatening to pull her under into it's depths.
