He smiled brightly, thrilled he had managed to figure it out. It was still going to take a lot of practice to figure everything out, and learn to maintain the shielding even in adverse situations, but he had time if he could rely on a crutch for a bit while at work. He'd practice without it though, very carefully so. "I suppose I'll need to shift to focus of my meditation. I'd rather not end up insane." He'd end up a fairly powerful psionic, given the family line. Though Catherine had everything just right to end up a true powerhouse, he still should end up fairly decent. "Would it be alright if I use a crutch for a bit, while I'm at work?" Until he could reliable fully shield, he figured her could use a weak spell to help shield his mind.
Rather than speak it, he sent her what he was thinking. A simple pendant against his skin to shield his mind, similar to what he had at the gala. It would be fairly weak, and he'd need to keep his shield up also, but it should help keep the edge off it all, at least.

"A wise choice on your part for once." Catherine agreed. Any fledgling that went insane was promptly dealt with. While she would rather not have to do that to Tyrus, she would handle it herself if it came down to it.
But then of course she had his suggestion to consider. He didn't have the luxury of time that she had had to learn what did or didn't work. "That should be helpful the first few weeks..." She mused, turning the image over in her mind. The pendants magical resonance would ideally match that of the wearer's, providing them with the ability to adjust as necessary.
Catherine would have to learn the give and take required to teach a novice student in a new form of magic.

"If I could take more time off to handle this I would, but I'm still catching up from the last time." He was underwater when it came to his workload, even with a deputy he could trust and a personal assistant to ensure he was taken care of. Something occurred to him and he groaned, putting his head in his hands. "I sincerely hope your father won't mind if I supplement with bagged blood. I'm going to be entirely too busy to actually hunt for my food." That took time and effort and he had a packed solid schedule as it was. He'd have his PA look at it and try and find some time for hunting in there, somewhere.
He needed a second PA. There wasn't going to be enough time to get everything done, was there? Broadmoor was a full time job as it was, and he had needed to slow down on his studies and practice of magic while he wrestled that beast under control. He didn't feel comfortable handing it off entirely just yet, though his deputy had done good work while he was in the fae realm. He wanted to make sure the institute was actually stable before he left it alone. And even then, he'd probably just take a more passive role. "I suppose if I put off the creation of more safety pendants, I'd have more time for learning the skills needed." He hated to do that. They kept unseen kids safe from mundane idiots who may try and hurt them.
The reveal hadn't exactly been smooth sailing for everyone world wide after all. "I need to carve out time in my schedule for lessons." The question was when would he have time and what was he willing to let go. It may end up being Broadmoor when it came down to it. His deputy was competent and he could steadily more to part time, if needed.
