Xiaolian sighed wearily,"Those are the odds I didn't want to hear Brandon..." She pinched the bridge of her nose as she walked outside the condo, there was little way of getting around notifying the Council now. They had been thrown into a political mine field, and the guide that would be of most help was now gone. While Tyrus would be helpful in the situation, Xiaolian was hesitant to ask him to risk life, limb, and even property again.
"But.. a name and what you've said is extordinarily helpful. Thank you Brandon, please don't hesitate to reach out to me at this number if you need anything."
Hanging up on the call, Xiaolian weighed her options. Getting another Warden to help would take nearly an act of the Gods to get Council to agree, if they didn't blame Dallas somehow for getting their own Warden abducted first.
The Council was a necessary evil, but that didn't mean anyone always agreed with them. In many opinions they were too far removed from what happened day to day outside their chambers to make unbiased and knowledgable decisions about the law. Just because they were considered experts in their field didn't make them infallable, and there was often even dissent among the Councilors; especially when it came to Euathios and Blackwelder or Klein.
Xiaolian did not feel that the Council would provide them any guidance other than, 'Your fuck up, you fix it.'
For all intents and purposes they were on their own, and potentially against a vampire they knew absolutely nothing about.
"So do you want the good news, the bad news, or the really bad news?" She asked Tyrus and Molly as she walked back in.
