"No clue what you just said." Rachel was more amused than not at whatever it was. It didn't sound like the same language the entire time, but that was about all she could pick out. At least Harkov spoke Standard. The biker didn't exactly have a translator module with her. That would have been awkward as hell, catching someone who didn't speak Standard.
Rachel waited, though it didn't take her long to be bored. She never did have much patience. "So...what do you do when you aren't falling backwards off a balcony?" The brunette knew what she did. Mostly she raced and worked on bikes. The racing paid the bills well, but she did odd jobs occasionally to make certain that she had a good amount put away in case she lost.

"This and that." Rei replied, currently none too eager to answer the pink clad biker's probing questions. "I mean it's really nothing interesting." She added wondering where the nurse was. The whole place smelled of antiseptic with a faint hint of blood, guts, and gore of the city.
While she may have had to credit to cover this little forced visit, she'd rather be anywhere else. A bar, numbing the pain as best she could and hoping to forget would have been ideal. But instead she was sitting there on an uncomfortable prefab seat, in a stuffy hospital emergency room, listening to the various complaints of it's current occupants. All because of what should have been the best ending she could think of.
No one would have missed here on that planet, and as corrupt as it's government was, no one would bother looking.

"I feel like you're lying because you don't like me." Rachel grinned, not remotely offended. "And also that you think I'm entirely too nosy. Which, to be far, I am." She didn't mind admitting it either. The biker leaned back and fell silent, waiting. It wasn't that much longer until Harkov's name was called and Rachel stood with the other, walking her to the desk at least. she hesitated a moment.
"Do you want me to come with?" She could if the other wanted, but she had the feeling her presence wasn't welcome. Still, at least she had seen the other to the doctor. That would probably have to be enough. And the other was alive. That was definitely better than the alternative.

"Who said I was lying?" Rei commented as she stood up stiffly. She knew she shouldn't have been walking after the force she'd hit Rachel's bike with, but the woman was infinitely tougher than she looked. "Maybe I really don't do anything interesting." She pointed out as the nurse gave her an irritated glance. They'd rather be treating tourists than some biker's friend. "Maybe I was just drunk enough to fall off a balcony." Rei added before disappearing with the nurse.
Reappearing after a time, the woman glanced furitively around the waiting area, hoping to largely be rid of her would be rescuer.

Rachel had felt bad stranding the other here, and given she was 'off work' and her bike didn't need any work, she had hung around. She could give the other a ride back to where she was staying, and hopefully there would be no deliberately falling off the balcony this time. It wasn't like she didn't know exactly where, and she could get the other directly to her room even. The wonders of a hover bike, for sure.
She had been hanging out, lounging across three chairs at once, and being given a wide berth by most of the others here, but when she looked up and saw Harkov, she grinned and waved. It was the work of a minute to meet the other there. "Hey, you're out! I figured you might need a ride back since, you know, you fell off a balcony and don't really have a ride back to your hotel."

'Shit.' Rei thought, as she was greeted by Rachel yet again. "A biker with a guilty conscious? That's a new one." She said with a laugh before grimacing in pain. While a few ribs were cracked, it was mostly severe bruising that had done the woman in. Had she actually made it to the ground from 10 stories up, a lot more likely would have been damaged. "Look, I'm sure you've got somewhere to go or something to do besides give a stranger a ride." Rei added as she headed for the exit. She'd hail a cab before she rode on the back of that bike again. Something about it reminded her of an all too vivid and intense dream, and it wasn't the wash of neon reflecting off the fog rolling in off the beaches.
"I'll call a cab and say we're even."

"I could sleep. I could check my bike over for the millionth time today. I could...sleep some more. I suppose I could even go to the gym. It's a light biking day since you caught me on the tail end of a race." Which she won. Of course, the hover bike race had been strictly illegal, but hey. Most of them were. The legal races cost a fortune to get into and frankly, she would need a sponsor. She wasn't willing to throw stickers on her bike for a sponsor.
"If you're sure, I'll let you go. But you've already spent a lot of credits on the visit here for your ribs. A free ride isn't something to pass up." Besides, this time of night, she'd probably only find a ground cab and those were a terrible idea. Unregulated, dangerous, and with no guarantee you'd get to your destination.

Rachel had a point, and it was one that Rei was none too happy to conceed to. The credits for the ER alone had been painful enough, and the cabs were iffy at best. Besides which, she really had no idea where exactly she was. Accepting a lift from a stranger, especially one with a hoverbike hadn't been one of her proudest accomplishments to date. When she thought of it, for the briefest of moments, she tried to figure out what had been any accomplishment to be proud of. What bits and pieces of memory she still held intact was a string of jobs gone sideways, no living family, and no real prospects. It made her head ache to even think about it.
"Fine, fine.. you have a point Ski Bunny." Harkov relented. "Just... I'm going to advise you not to take any challenges for the next week." She added, as the pieces in her sleep deprived mind began to knit themselves together slowly.

"Two weeks until the next race anyway." She said, and led the way to the bike. "I'm in the maintenance and odd jobs part of the cycle. I'll keep my head down." That wasn't exactly a hardship. She usually did anyway. A biker girl without a gang didn't want too much attention. She tended to take a different route to and from the race each time, just for safety. She wasn't joining one of the gangs by choice or force if she could avoid it.
Besides, she had been in one before, and they were all dead now. You didn't open yourself up to pain like that a second time. She wasn't about to risk it. The woman sighed and checked the other over visually. "Are you going to be okay on your own, once we get there?" There was no guarantee the other wasn't still suicidal. But Rachel could only do so much to help. Past that, the other was on her own.
Still, it was curious the other warned her awake from any challenges for the next week. There must be someone after her.

Rei thought for a moment, two weeks should be enough time to avoid any incidents, but things were always constantly changing and in flux. She just hoped that whatever happened, didn't happen while she was still there on the planet. She'd like to be long gone before any guesses or potential predictions came up on the horizon. "Grease monkey work then." She commented as she dismissed a half formed thought. Putting it into words would have been difficult, and she wasn't in the mood to spend the next half hour grasping at straws and attempting to explain a concept that even to her was as clear as mud.
"I'll be fine... but why are you so vested in the wellfare of a stranger? Especially one whose likely to leave before too long and go back to wherever it was they came from?" Rei asked curiously.

"Kindness hurts no one." Rachel said simply. "Plus Gramma would kill me if she knew I left you alone like this. I love Gramma. I like staying in her good books." She wasn't about to risk it. That woman knew everything and everyone and somehow this would get back to her, Rachel knew it. Still, she supposed it was odd to be interested in another's health, especially on this planet. The locals cared for each other and hated the tourists. The tourists cared only about themselves and it always showed. And the government was corrupt as it got and put the tourists first every time.
There were times she wondered what it would be like to get off this rock."Besides, you aren't bad for a tourist. Grumpy, yeah, but your not throwing a tantrum so your already leagues above most." And wasn't that incredibly sad. The bar really was that low.

Harkov looked at the other with an apraising glance that did nothing to belie the intensity of her gaze. A pair bright jade orbs peered out from beneath the thick tangled shock of blue hair. "Maybe so, but stick close to the ground kid. Something doesn't seem right." She replied, only slightly agreeing with the other. While she would have prefered to be left to her own devices, she couldn't exactly turn down the company either. If Rei were honest, most of her days were filled with untrustworthy individuals and some of the worst dregs of society. That was when she wasn't by herself on a massive ship.

"There is no way you're that much older than me." She said and dug the spare helmet out of the back again as they arrived to the bike. "I'll stick close to the ground though, no worries." It was an easy request to honor after all. Rachel pulled her helmet out as well and shut the back end, then handed the spare over. Something didn't feel right did it? Now that the other mentioned it, her senses were pinging too. This was going to be fun.
A wicked grin split her lips. Oh she couldn't wait to see someone try and do something. "...hold on tight though, in case we need to go fast okay? I hit non street legal speeds on this thing." And looking at the other she was pretty certain she didn't have to worry about her saying anything.

Rei said nothing about the age comment, and instead obediently slid the helment back down over her head. "Non-street legal?" The woman asked, her interest now piqued. If there was anything that Rei Harkov loved, it was fast machines. The thrill of flying or even close to flying had very little that came close. Perhaps that was part of what had driven the woman to nonchalantly take the plunge off the balcony that she had.
Climbing onto the back of the bike, she soon found purchase for her feet and arms, and hoped that they would be met with little resistance. Rei would rather not take yet another plunge through the bright neon lights of the city. That seemed to be the most she was capable of doing considering the broken and bruised ribs from her earlier collision with the bike she was now riding on.

"Do I look like a rich man? Do you see any sponsor stickers on my baby? I don't ride in the big races. This is my racer. Why would it be street legal?" She rode in the underground ones. She pulled the helmet on and mounted her bike. "I'll stick on the shields, but they won't do much good against anything but keeping you from falling off." She said and did just that, before taking off once she was satisfied with the other's grip.
She couldn't do much against weapons fire, but had a feeling she was about to have to dodge it. It was a good thing she had the fastest bike in the city.
