Catherine just shook her head, rituals, spells, and all the ins and outs of magic while technically part of her job, were not always things she was interested in. She had people who she could assign those things as a Warden, and usually that meant roping Tyrus into whatever it was she needed. "Get rid of it." She said shaking her head and pushed herself to stand, albeit a bit weakly. This was going to be a long twelve weeks, if they even made it that far.
"The palace grounds are well fortified, but it is best that things not be done here." Catherine knew that it would likely draw attention, but it would be better to draw attention farther away from the palace than so close to it. Even if that meant trading some small creature comforts for safety, even she knew better than to jeopardize the palace security. "More than likely Grandmother will request we stay for supper... but..." She explained, her thoughts quickly moving elsewhere. The queen often got her way, even if it was in a round about way. "You may have a problem."

Tyrus knelt and touched the ground, using his magic to smooth away the images and level it out. It wouldn't be perfect but it would be a good deal better. "What problem am I about to have?" And could he magic it away. If it was related to his wardrobe, which he knew stood out in the court, he could solve that with magic. Well, mostly. He inspected his work carefully and stood again. "And I don't mind staying for supper. I suspect at the farm meals will be incredibly simple."
If she wanted anything more than simple food now was the time. Living on a farm was going to be an ordeal. He was not thrilled to be signing up for it, but he'd make due. On a farm.

"Oh never mind." Catherine was feeling spiteful, and decided to just let Tyrus figure out what the problem was himself. He at least would be providing them entertainment at supper, and at least it wouldn't be horrified mundanes looking on as he turned everything into chaos. She didn't plan to lift a single finger to help him either, but more likely would tell the footman to keep his glass full. Payback was going to be an utter bitch if she had anything to say about it.
"You are put out about the farm." She commented off hand. Tyrus would learn sooner or later to concentrate more keeping his mind blank than leaving his thoughts bare and floating around in the open. He seemed to have conveniently forgotten that he had voluntarily agreed to take on a student with such extreme mental abilities, and instead had been more worried about the magic.

"Of course I am. It's a farm. There are sheep. I may own cattle but I never so much as have to look at them." He had workers for all of that. "Are they even showers in this realm? Is that a thing here?" Oh Ra, he hoped so. He desperately hoped so. What was he supposed to do if there weren't showers. You couldn't get clean in a bath, not really. Still, he put his mental shields back up.
This was going to happen every time he had to redirect her magic wasn't it? That took all of his focus. "Plus, I'm sleeping on a cot for the next six months. My bed is a california king. There's a difference." How was he supposed to sleep on a cot?

Catherine did her best to stifle a chuckle as she watched Tyrus's tantrum, she was never going to let him live that down. While she agreed that the accommodations weren't exactly five star, Molly's family had been gracious enough to help them and provide a safe place the best they could. The fact that Tyrus was so put out struck her almost as ungrateful. "Well then Lord Rahal, would the McBride family estate be better suited to your liking?" She deadpanned. This man was so spoiled, that Catherine was convinced roughing it a little wouldn't hurt.
"And yes, we bathe. Thank you for insinuating that we are all dirty, unclean heathens."

"Of course you bathe. But in a tub or in a shower? That's two wildly different baths!" He hated bathing in a tub. It was a menace. "And no, you and I both know the farm is the perfect location. It's just. less lavish than I'm used to." Significantly. This was not a man used to anything but luxury. There were a lot of downsides to his parents, but the accommodations had never been one.
"And it's going to be so odd being called Lord Rahal all night. And you're...Lady McBride, if I remember the man saying." The translation spell had helped more than he would like to admit. It looked like this was another language to add to the list of things he needed to know.

"In a tub, of course." Catherine answered confused as to why this was even a debate. Bathing was bathing, and sometimes it was nice to have a long soak in warm soapy and scented water. "Why is it of any consequence?" She asked him. It could be worse, he could have had his lot thrown in with the Unseelie for him. They were a nasty sort given to all kinds of misery, and it was better than he'd been tossed in with those of the light rather than the dark.
"And yes, Dumitrescu is a name I adopted when I came to the human realm. What I mean is this is all so complicated Tyrus, surely you have no need for all of these extraneous details?" Catherine would rather just throw him into the deep end like he had done to her. She was tired and would much prefer to be somewhere dark and cool to sleep. The heat of the day and it's event had exhausted her. Dinner would surely do the same if she was tasked with baby sitting the mage.

A tub. A tub. He wasn't going to feel clean for months. The two clearly had two very different views on what worked for a bath. "I didn't want to get your name here wrong." He wrinkled his nose and shrugged. "I know a lot of the unseen are very particular about names." For good reason. He was still going to be amused that he was basically going to be called Lord Son of Ra the entire time he was here, but it worked out well. Besides, it wasn't like he had another last name other than his title.
"No more details needed." Let's hope he didn't royally screw this up. That was his goal tonight.

"Of course you didn't..." Catherine sighed as she left the room. Someone would show up not long long after to show Tyrus to his accomodations for the night, and they were anything but simple.
_________ That evening the entire palace was ablaze with candles and small lights floating in the air. It was a magnificent spectacle, and it seemed that no expense or magic was spared from the evening's festivities.
Windows sat open to the night air, as a lazy breeze drifted the scent of roses and greenery in and out. Various lords and ladies of the court were dressed in dazzling silks and satins lavishly trimmed and beribboned. Sparkling jewels sat at the throat and on the ears of many of the women, and on the buttons and buckles of the men's coats. It was a fairy tale come to life.

Tyrus has clearly not gotten the memo on how to dress for the night. Usually he was the most flamboyant in the room and right now he definitely wasn't. Then again, he hadn't expected to come to the fae court or a feast at all, so he was not dressed for it. Idly, he played with the seer stone that hung lowest around his neck and looked around, trying to find Catherine, since she was the only one he knew here.
It was a beautiful sight. The only thing he was worried about was a distinct lack of non-alcoholic beverages. This was going to be the opposite of fun in so many ways. At least he could feel the easy flow of magic here. That was something of a relief to feel, and soothing in a way he didn't like to admit to.

Catherine wasn't far off, and seemed relatively at ease with their current situation, even if it was only for the night. A small glass of wine was in one hand, and golden painted fan in another to ward off the heat of the evening. She was dressed in an elegant silk gown of dark indigo, trimmed with burgundy ribbon that only served to highlight the white hair and light eyes. It was easy now to understand how she was so easily mistaken as fae.
"Tyrus, you seem to be enjoying yourself." Catherine remarked as she came over to where he stood.

"Well enough." He admitted. "Mostly I'm enjoying the flow of magic here." It was so different than back home. He could see why people wouldn't want to leave. The mage smiled to his friend. "I confess, I feel rather out of place here. The lack of beverages I can safely drink just adds to it." He wasn't going to ruin the good impression he had going for him by getting drunk. Hopefully. It was tempting to have just one glass. Surely, one glass wouldn't hurt him.
It was incredibly tempting to give in. How could it not be, when giving in meant relaxing with a drink for the first time in months. But this was a court and he knew better. They didn't need rubber ducks and chocolate rain here. He was already on thin ice with Catherine. Getting drunk in her home would push him that much further over.

"Many do, and many find it hard to ever leave once they have felt it." That alone was exhibited by the large entourage comprised of many different beings that seemed to accompany the court. "Does that worry you?" Catherine asked innocently enough. She knew he was out of his comfort zone, and could likely be pushed just a little more. After all she was only returning the favor.
"But I had hoped I need not remind you that refusal is rude. One glass surely would do no harm." She remarked taking a full wine glass from a tray and handing it to him.
His will was already weak, and Catherine knew she was taking full advantage of it. While it was wrong to amuse herself in this fashion, she couldn't resist. Being home again meant it was that much easier to give into the fae like behaviors she had so carefully avoided in the mundane realm.
"Besides, the fae might enjoy some of your more interesting feats, and are anything if not easily amused." Catherine remarked, offering him a smile that was all together too charming.

"A little. But I have responsibilities I can't just leave behind." And they were the price he paid gladly, given what he had gotten out of it. He accepted the glass graciously. "I'm quite sure I shouldn't." But it was rude to refuse. He took a sip regardless. Oh he was well aware he was being used for amusement. He probably deserved it. "I suppose it could be nice to...cut loose a little. It's not like anyone here is mundane, after all." That had always been the main problem. He raised an eyebrow and looked at Catherine. "So long as you can promise me a sobering potion so I can undo my chaos."
Though he was in the fae realm. Presumably there were mages here who could undo his particular brand of chaos. If not, he could undo it once he was sobered up again. "Maybe I'll even manage something more adult than rubber ducks. I was trained how to redirect the magic when I was five. It's habit now, the shapes. Be glad you get to learn it as an adult." Rubber ducks and chocolate milk. Flamingos and ostriches. Games of war between his toys. Oh yes, as an adult it was embarassing as hell.

"Don't we all?" Catherine murmured thoughtfully as she motioned to a nearby footman. Leaning over, she motioned the man to bend over so she could say something that wouldn't be heard by the rest of the party. "Keep his glass full, never mind what the mage tells you." She instructed. Maybe this would give Tyrus a solid reminder that he wasn't in the human realm anymore, and he was in her world now for better or for worse. While what she was doing to him wasn't nearly as bad as what his parents had done to her, she still couldn't help but feel a slight pang of remorse. "I will see what I can manage, in the meantime enjoy yourself Tyrus." Catherine instructed as she vanished back into the crowd.
