It was Pastitsio on the menu for the crew that day, and once they were inside the mess hall, they would be greeted by the sounds of people eating, more Aschen seated around the various metal tables. Some of them were drinking, others were playing card games, and a few were focused on eating.
Marlene lead them into the serving line, a plastic tray was handed off, followed by a three-item metal tray, and a metal cup. They moved down the line, first Pastitsio was placed on the dish, a baked lasagna with ziti pasta, tomato, and meat sauce, followed by a fresh salad that consisted of peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, and crumbled cheese with an olive oil dresssing, and the final serving was a small flat pastry soaked in honey. Surprisingly fresh for shipboard food, the Aschen had always been known to keep their soldiers well fed. There was a drink fountain on the far side of the room, where Marlene took her cup, and filled it with ice, and then a Cola like product.
The three that followed got bored looks from the chef, as he boredly doled out their food.

Rei just sighed as she exited the serving line looking down at the food, it wasn't exactly what she'd expected. But it was food none the less, and complaining about the little hospitality that they'd been shown would have been rude. Filling her own cup with water, Harkov then took a seat at an empty table and proceeded to push bits of the salad around and pick at the pasta. Admittedly it was better than a ration bar, though she still wondered what strings came with it.

Careful inspection of the Pastitsio told her she shouldn't eat it though she took it for one of the others. Smells of animal protein in it or in the sauce. Digesting animal proteins wouldn't go over so well right now with her stomach this empty. That would just come right back up or rack her joints.
Skittles replied to Cassie though without Quietus she wasn't sure who she was talking to, "Yes, this is Sprinkles. Is this Cassie? Can you tell them I want a cup of dressing?"
Trying to get the bored male's attention the Gardener pointed at a container of dressing and her steel cup though took the food.

"My friend wants another cup of dressing please." Cassie stared at the cook until she got her way. She may use her manners but there was no doubt something lingering in her eyes and about the lines of her face that told people to listen to her when she was being insistent. Once the other had gotten a cup of the dressing, Cassie took her cup to the drink machine and chose her preferred drink from it. Juice was always a delicious option, even if it was artificial juice.
The pirate placed her tray down after Marlene and Rei had chosen a place. "Did you guys know that Sprinkles can speak on an radio frequency?" She beamed at her new friend. "I picked her up loud and clear. I can't really do more than ping back though, sorry Sprinkles. Hook me into a computer and I can do more complicated things, but just me? Just pinging and receiving." She rubbed her head and started to droop, but managed to stop herself.
She looked around in confusion. "Where are we? This isn't my ship...why are we surrounded by Aschen?" She kept her voice low, speaking to Rei and not wanting to be overheard. Her short term memory was completely shot right now. Hesitantly, she poked at the food, not sure if she should eat it. She'd wait for someone else to take a bite first.

The cook gave Cassie a strange look, before he poured the other strange creature a cup of olive oil, giving them a strange look, before sliding the cup across the metal table.
"You're holding up the line." The man said flatly.
Marlene had seated herself near a group of officers, going over some of the ship's repairs. It seemed no one wanted to sit with her, so she would go about her business without them for now.

No one from the Cenote really wanted to sit with Marlene, especially not Rei who was content to bid her time until they could leave the Aschen ship and it's crew behind. It wasn't that she didn't appreciate the help, it was that she would have preferred to not have to be rescued like some children's story character. While she was sure that there was likely some lesson to be learned here, likely that of not picking fights with an Aschen intelligence officer.
Pushing her food around her plate, the blue haired woman briefly wished for the ground to just open up and swallow her whole. That way she wouldn't have to endure the continued humiliation and insults borne by Marlene and her crew. Rei was just eager for all of it to be over one way or another.

Rei rather stood out among all the Ashen crew so Sprinkles took her food with Cassie over to the table. Sprinkles noticed the occasional disapproving gaze from the crew but didn't much care as she didn't intend to stay here any more than Rei did. Starvation rather did do that. Behind Cassie in line she took a fistful of sugar and salt packets for her tray. Once at the table her mouthparts moved out of the way for a conical orange tongue that stuck into the cup of olive oil.
Replying to Cassie over RF the level of olive oil slowly decreased in the cup, ((That is okay! I feel like I am talking to newborn Gardeners with text. Quietus is pasigraphic.))
The tongue twitched as it drained olive oil from the cup though Sprinkles passed a tomato to her mouthparts. They quietly smecked at wet redness as Sprinkles stared at her hand. Focusing her abilities now that she had food the slightly paler hand darkens in patches as sheets of carbon-fiber nacre rapidly regrow from underneath. The heart would take far longer with the extensive burn damage she'd gotten all over her cardiovascular system.
The slight psionic turbulence died off as Cassie lost her focus to which Sprinkles replied over RF again, ((Eat your food we are starving. I would like to be in Rei's ship again. It has my safe full of snacks.))

"Food?" That's right, they were eating. They had been allowed on the aschen ship for food and supplies. Cassie smiled and dug in enthusiastically. "Thanks Sprinkles. I get lost without my banks." She had been wired for working with a ship. Working with a ship meant she could focus and without it. She was thrilled just to get a full meal. "I'm coming to Rei's ship too right? Oh! My memory banks. We were going to get my memory banks first."
She rapped her head with her knuckles and gave Sprinkles a sheepish smile. Everything was fragmented and following things was difficult. In the heat of a battle or an emergency, she could use adrenaline to force some connections to stay, but without it she was a bit of a space case. "I'm going to need to defragment." That should only take a sleep cycle at least, and then she'd be back to running at one hundred percent. Good, she could tell she was getting worse.
Seeing food in front of her, she ate some more. Food was energy, and would help with her focus.
